The inaugural Business Idea Bootcamp, an initiative of RDA Logan & Redlands, was held at the Griffith University Logan Campus on 11 April 2016, with 60 participants.

This highly interactive event helped intending entrepreneurs, small business owners and not-for-profits discuss, develop and test their business ideas.

Industry experts shared skills and tools to help participants formulate a compelling business case to attract partners and investors. Everyone left knowing what their next step was and who could help them get there.

Following the success of the inaugural event, a second Bootcamp was held on 17 May at the Redlands RSL, which attracted a further 40 participants.

Each Business Idea Bootcamp was followed by a second phase, Pitch Perfect. These were held on 22 April (24 participants) and 26 May (15 participants).

The purpose of these events was to consolidate knowledge gained from the respective Bootcamps. Participants pitched their business idea in a 'real world' situation to a panel of local business identities, with support and encouragement for all participants.

The culmination of the day in each case was the presentation of prizes to the top three participants who judges felt presented the best business case pitch. There was also a people's choice award which was voted on by all participants.
